Time of past OR future Camino
future - 1st october
Hello,

Just got back from my second Primitivo. Would like to walk the Aragon Way, and wondering what time would be the best? In addition - any recommended guidebooks / websites?

Thanks, Noam

Hi Noam. I just completed the Aragonese. The weather was wonderful every day. I would suggest September.

I walked the Aragon from Oloron St. Marie in May 2012 as acontinuance. from GR 65. The way up to the border at Somport was difficult and beacause of bad weather I was advised not to walk along the path but stay on the road because the path was dangerous. In my opinion the road was dangerous as well.
The route down from Somport was OK .

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hey Sharon, would you recommend any guidebook or a specific app / website to get more info on the way itself? was it crowded?
We used the updated CSJ guide plus Miam Miam Dodo as we had been walking from Arles and these guides included the Aragones as well.
Otherwise, Gronze.com is good.
In most albergues, there were some spare beds, but in Sanguesa only room for one more. Most days there was up to 20 pilgrims or slightly more. There seemed to be a lot in Jaca.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I just finished the Camino de San Salvador in Oviedo today and am trying to figure out transport options from Oviedo to Somport to walk the Camino Aragones. It looks like I would need to get to...
