Botafumeiro in Navarrete

This evening I came across a set of photos which show a very large thurible being used today at a service in the Church of the Assumption in Navarrete. From the photos it looks a bit smaller than the famous Santiago Botafumeiro but still impressive. I was not aware that Navarrete had their own version. Next time I pass by I'll drop in to see if it is in use!

I remember Navarrete so well. A beautiful church and a stunningly beautiful altar.

Found a video of the Navarrete botafumeiro being used in 2019. Very dramatic. This one swings along the length of the nave rather than the transepts.

Thank you SO MUCH. Again it shows us how many things we just blindly pass by.... reckon the Church of the Assumption in Navarrete is now on my MUST STOP at list next time boots hit the ground
