Could someone please tell me what “s/o” stands for in Brierley’s guide? He uses it often in directions, for example, “keep s/o up concrete path.” it is driving me crazy trying to figure out what it means. Thank you!
At the front of his guide , he explains all the abbreviations, SO means , straight on

Thanks so much. (face red) I was clearly over thinking that one.;-)
I wouldn't be too embarrassed. Here is a list of 122 meanings for S/O or SO, and straight on is not included. I think it is in common use as a navigation direction for some many years, eg I see KSO - keep straight on, routinely. Normally a guide book will have an explanation, but I have just checked my 2020 edition of John Brierley's CP guide, and it isn't explained. But perhaps it isn't used either - don't ask me to check that!

When you ask local people the way to Santiago they point West and say todo recto (all straight) and sometimes as you go around a slight bend you come to a fork in the road.!!! but just keep going West.
