Heads up!
There is a busted up bridge crossing the river between Penaseita and the road crossing up towards Alto da Palo.
You have three options.
1. Carefully cross on the rubble of the destroyed bridge. Some pilgrims have thrown down extra logs. I did not think it was stable and was dangerous.
2. Ford the River. Do not cross where the bridge rubble is. The water is waist-high. Go upstream and cross where you can see the rocks. The water is about knee-high. Do not do this unless you are confident as the water is moving very quickly. Unless you have previous experience, do not attempt to cross alone.
3. Take the road through this area instead.
