I have arrived in Santiago and without the help of Ivar and all of you would not have been as prepared! I have another question can I register tomorrow and go to pilgrim's mass Friday as my niece will be joining me and she wants to be there if they mention my name or is that too late? Aliwalks!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Congratulations on reaching Santiago aliwalks, I hope you have a wonderful time while you are there. I am a relative newbie to this forum but my understanding is that it is the numbers of pilgrims in terms of nationality and starting points that is read out during the mass but not the naming of individuals. Other members - Johnny Walker in particular - will be able to clarify the time lapse between getting your Compostella in the Pilgrims' Office and when you are added to the lists mentioned above.

There is no real limit on when you can go to the Pilgrim Office for your compostela. Just the nationality and number of pilgrims is read at the Pilgrim Mass (starting point may be in there too), and it usually is the previous day's arrivals. You can go to all the masses you want. They are read quickly in Spanish, so it is easy to miss the reference to you. Congratulations on your finish. Have fun in Santiago!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hi, congratulations with your arriving in Santiago. They don't mention names during mass, sorry.
Wish you well, Peter.

In the three days I was in Santiago I went to the Cathedral four times, three for mass. It was like a magnate - congratulations! Many went other days because of long lines at the Compostela office. Go early! Enjoy Santiago and investigate all that the city is!

Hey, congratulations aliwalks!!
Enjoy the mass, and the masses of arriving fellow-pilgrims...and don't forget to check out the Tertulia (and maybe be successful in setting up a meeting with fellow forum members!)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Yes, you'll meet the nicest people there. I did.
