I started in st jean and am currently in leon. My foot is blistered after my boots wore out.

Have completed many long distance treks longest is 1000 km, bibulmun track.
I was hiking in the mountains and came across a red and white marker.

Seen them before in france and spain.

So I thought I will follow this through an intermediate cliff abd mountain trail.

I came to a secret mountain church.

Incredibly hard to find and not visible from the streets.

The interior was completely patented in panels and frescos.

The church was founded in 1500's to resist the muslim occupation.

It was like one giant comic book style inside. The bible as a comic, I supposed this was a way to teach the gospell.

There were pictures of the local christian soldiers. There was also pictures of the same soldiers being publicaly executed in horrific ways at the hands of occupying muslim men.

The russians liberated Bulgaria, Only to then impose communism.

Now the country has been free since 1989 and christianity is flourishing.

The taking of photographs in this holy place is banned.

Its unfortunate that that bulgaria does not have the money to build massive places of worship to these martyrs.
