Frances SJPDP to SDC May & June 2017
I am in Burgos today. I walked in yesterday and took a rest day so that I could look around. The Cathedral was worth the day. I found that there were great markings in places and then there were places where I had t ask for help. I am out by the university and will leave around 5:45 in the morning - still not too light. I am concerned about missing the arrows. Can anybody tell me exactly what to expect when leaving? Does the path follow the road or should I look for a sharp turn into the woods (that sort of info). Thank for your help.

Buen Camino,

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

We walked there today. Follow the road oft the left side. There are yellow signs and shells. Look close and if you have time walk to the bar at the Hospital where the bus stopps and ask the friendly owner there. Hope to meet you in my favorite place -the meseta.

I'm in the Hotel Abadia and will be leaving around 6:00 tomorrow. Hope to reach Hontanas before 2:00. I walk slow on hills and you may pass me along the way. My Tilley hat and REI backpack give me away as a North American.

I took a recon tour this afternoon and an find my way out of town.

To everyone who has been so helpful on this forum: I wish I could post pictures, but my internet connection is usually so poor and keeping a written journal consumes what little time I have after the big three (shower, wash clothes, & nap).

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Hi everyone -- After walking the Frances from SJpdP last October, I'm planning to revisit the bit between Logrono and Burgos this July, following different stages. It's the section where I had...
I started out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on 1 May. It turned out to be an unforgetable day. Above 1,000 m or so it snowed, catching many people unprepared. Later that day "many" walkers were...
And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁
