Time of past OR future Camino
Camino de Frances Burgos to Astorga and maybe beyond....Sept 14....then return a week later and get to Santiago
Hi folks,

I'll be walking the Camino in Sept but have to break away for a few days in the middle. I reckon I will, or will try to be, near Cacabelos, maybe up to 30km further towards Santiago.
I have my trains to/from Leon sussed out but for the life of me am getting nowhere trying to find out what, if any, local buses/trains could get me back to Leon to catch my connecting train and obviously, the reverse for my journey back to resume my camino.

Any guidance/help/advice etc. much appreciated. Please note that if a suitable option is to retrace my steps, that isn't a problem.

Thanks in advance

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Bus from Villafranca del Bierzo or Ambasmesta.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Cacabelos is a little village. The rule of thumb in these cases: go to the nearer "big village" or city. Alsa http://www.alsa.es provides a service Cacabelos-Villafranca del Bierzo, then to León.
You may take a taxi to Villafranca, or even walk there. It is not far, around 8 km

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Wow..great and useful responses thank you.

Brilliant folks..thanks very much, reckon I have a clear idea opt my options now. Just finding it difficult to get responses on some of the Spanish transport websites...not a new phenomenon and I find turning up and paying usually works pretty well.
