Calling All Hawaiian Pilgrims (and those planning)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Good for you! Another forum member - @pinkwadingbird and I started a chapter in Southern Oregon. Of course we didn't have the logistics problems that you have being in a state with many islands, but I'm sure that you will overcome any obstacles. I don't think that there are any REI stores in Hawaii, but if there are outdoor stores there let them know about your new chapter, and leave literature with them. We held our meetings (pre-Covid) in libraries, YMCAs, REI and other outdoor stores. The advantage of doing it in some of these businesses is that they will publicize your events for you.

LOL, we don't have ANY outdoor stores here, no sporting goods, nothing! Surf shops, yes

(one of my sons is a surf instructor, so I'm very OK with it). Thanks for the encouragement, though. Yes, there will some, ahem, challenges to holding meetings. How do you do yours?? Curious on how to go about getting started. did you have agendas, etc?

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
I’m a 1/2 year resident in Kona and 1/2 in Seattle. We have two or three sporting goods stores here (Kailua Kona) but mainly focused on Tri and IronMan stuff. Heading to Canterbury in late May to walk the first half of the VF. Good luck with the Ohana chapter. Aloha and Buen Camino!

Yeah a total desert, to be sure.
Why O'ahu with its million people doesn't rate an REI store has puzzled me for ages.

Places to post notices in Hilo: Sports Line near the Edith Kanaka'ole stadium is one option. And there may be invisible bicigrinos, so talk to Chris at the Bike Hub. Island Naturals is where lots of people shop or have lunch. And of course the Public Library.

Given Island geography, Zoom may be a meeting answer, maybe eventually graduating to once a year in-person meetings - with the hosting rotating between different islands. Lots of possibilities!
