- Time of past OR future Camino
- SJPDP-Santiago '13
Just finished my Camino and a mass at the cathedral and as I sit here with my son in a cafe bar with my coffee I begin to reflect.
Equipment
- nylon sock liners with smart wool socks. (No blisters)
- walking poles or sticks (saved me more times than I can count)
- bed bug sheets from UK (saw way to many pilgrims with bites along our journey)
- good set of ear plugs (slept well every night)
- my son fell in love with moist towelettes (to heavy for me) but your glad u have them when u need them!
This and that
- the Camino is up hill all the way. I found most profiles under estimate how much there is up. We referred to it as our walking partner called "incline" as he was with us every day. I trained at elevation on the pacific rim trail and still found myself tired at the end of each day (maybe my age?).
It is easier to accept the Camino for what it is and adapt than to try to change it....
Start out easier because the miles accumulate...
Met wonderful people and stayed at beautiful albergues with wonderful hospitalarios
This is just my opinion and not meant to mean it is the only way....just my way
My son added his big two which were resolve in two parts,
one resolve to finish no matter what and
two resolve himself to accept the way no matter what form that it presents itself.
Buen Camino
