Time of past OR future Camino

Just finished my Camino and a mass at the cathedral and as I sit here with my son in a cafe bar with my coffee I begin to reflect.
Equipment
- nylon sock liners with smart wool socks. (No blisters)
- walking poles or sticks (saved me more times than I can count)
- bed bug sheets from UK (saw way to many pilgrims with bites along our journey)
- good set of ear plugs (slept well every night)
- my son fell in love with moist towelettes (to heavy for me) but your glad u have them when u need them!

This and that
- the Camino is up hill all the way. I found most profiles under estimate how much there is up. We referred to it as our walking partner called "incline" as he was with us every day. I trained at elevation on the pacific rim trail and still found myself tired at the end of each day (maybe my age?).

It is easier to accept the Camino for what it is and adapt than to try to change it....

Start out easier because the miles accumulate...

Met wonderful people and stayed at beautiful albergues with wonderful hospitalarios

This is just my opinion and not meant to mean it is the only way....just my way

My son added his big two which were resolve in two parts,
one resolve to finish no matter what and
two resolve himself to accept the way no matter what form that it presents itself.

Buen Camino

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Congratulations! I am watching the botafumeiro on the webcam right now. You got the same messages that I did. Buen camino.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I´m very happy for you w cleveland & son.

Looks like all went fine without the usual problems we read here.
You didn´t mention if you have the luck to see the botafumiero swing.
If not I´ve read that on Friday´s (today) it swings at the 7:30 pm mass. ( check out correct time)
It´s really thrilling to see it in action once the mass has finished.
I do hope now that your Camino to Santiago is over you don´t leave the forum. But stick around
and contribute to it with your experience once completed.

P.S. - Don´t leave for home without trying the "pulp a la Gallega" .;)

Buen Camino!

Well done chaps! You deserve a nice bottle of something red and a plate of something hearty. Check out Restaurante O'42 on Rua do Franco (number 42). I think you'll enjoy the food there! I'm afraid there's no bath or massage parlour in the restaurant though.

Well done to both of you and congratulations! Yes there were a lot of ups. What amazed me was that there were days when I started and it was up up up and to finish off the day there frequently stairs into places up up up. There were days when I thought to myself surely there cannot be many more ups to go. However one becomes used to it and track fitness takes over and would I do it all over again? Sure would and can't wait to get going again. Yep I have caught the camino disease.

Now my trusty inner wool socks and mid weight outer wool socks are back in my backpack ready to get going.
Cheers. It is a wonderful feeling to have accomplished the journey and what a journey.

Cleveland:

I definitely agree with your assessment that the Camino is uphill. After my first trip, I told my friends that a good book title for the Camino Frances would be "Always another Hill".

Er, well, um, if you're dropping by again, do pop in. Heh. And thanks a lot for the gold and frankincense, er, but don't worry too much about the myrrh next time. All right? Heh. Thank you. Good-bye.
