October 2014
Hi All,
I'm a new member and plan to walk the Camino in Oct/Nov. My goal is to arrive in Santiago on my 50th birthday (Nov 12). This journey will mark a new chapter in my life as I will be leaving a career of 30 years and beginning a new. Symbolic to the Phoenix that burns up in the ashes to be reborn. Somewhat poetic but I've chosen this journey because it requires endurance, a bit of suffering (I hope not too much. I'm a wimp, I admit), and a lot of faith and determination.

I've studied, asked questions, packed and repacked, and trained as much as my schedule (and the heat) allows. Right now it's 100f in Missouri. I get excited, nervous, a bit scared (at times) and then excited all over again. But I know this is the right path for me. My husband is also getting in on the excitement and plans to plot my progress with a map of the Camino.

I want to thank all that write in and share their experiences and advice in this forum. The information has been invaluable to my preparation (even though one can never truly prepare the first time). And for those planning to walk the CF from Oct 10-Nov 12, I hope to meet you along the Way.

Buen Camino!
