Time of past OR future Camino
Walking Camino from St Jean to Santiage in Sept. 2016. Will meet my husband in Astorga and he will walk the last part with me.
Anyone walking Camino in September 2016. Looking for info about weather. My husband is going to meet me in Astorga which is about 3/4 of The Way. How difficult will this be to time our meeting? I will be turning 70 this year and want to celebrate this event by taking this amazing pilgrimage. Liz from DC area

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Hi Liz, my wife walked the Camino Frances in September 2013 and she had great weather. But the thing about the weather is you can't predict it.
Hope you have a great birthday party with your camino family.
Wish you well and a Buen Camino, Peter.

September will be still warm, but normally not unbearably hot during the day, with coolish mornings and eves, especially in the mountains/on the meseta. And don't forget about the rain in Galicia!
As for timing to meeting up with your husband, Astorga is a beautiful town with lots of things to see and do. Just get him there ahead of you and tell him to enjoy the Cocido Maragato and the chocolate and that you will catch up with him in your own good time. Buen Camino, SY

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Walked this past September and found it very warm at times. 37 degrees walking into Pamplona. Great way to celebrate your 70th! We celebrated our retirement and 40th anniversary. Astorga is a great place to meet. Your husband will have lots to do if he arrives ahead of you. Enjoy!

Walked in sept a few times. Twice it was really really really hot. I mean, really, you know. Once it was warm to hot, mixed with all other weathertypes.

Its september, it can go either way, but never really cold, but it does depend on when you start walking, sept 1st or 29th?

Towards end of sept the nights will cool down faster, so for sitting and eating outside you might want a jacket, but again, its sept and can go either way.

I was in Madrid a few days ago and it was almost 20 degrees. Its december, so.....

You didn't say where you'll be starting, but if it's St Jean, that's about 340 miles from Astorga. A lot can happen along the way over 340 miles, and you may find yourself ahead of schedule or behind schedule for your meet-up with your husband. If you're ahead of schedule, just relax in Astorga while you wait (or take some extra time in León, just three days before Astorga). If you're behind, catch a bus from wherever you are to Astorga. Then, you can just continue walking from there or, if you feel that you really want to complete the "whole" Camino, take a bus back to where you last were and continue walking from there. As a bonus, you'll get to see Astorga twice.

BTW, my wife and I walked the CF together and celebrated my 70th birthday in O'Cebreiro with a well-deserved rest day.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will be starting in St Jean in Mid Sept. and taking an easy pace to Astorga. I'm sure my husband will enjoy his time in Astorga before I get there. We are trying to stay flexible about this so neither of us gets anxious about getting somewhere at a specified time.

My husband and I will be walking late August (around the 24th) through
September. We walked our first Camino in 2013. The weather was beautiful until we got to Sarria. It was storming in the forests. We will be celebrating my 70th (09/09). Buen Camino.
