Heightened Security Announced for Annual Fetes de Bayonne Festival, Pyrenees-Atlantiques Department, on 25-29 July
Countries: France
Category: Transportation
Rating: Low
Additional security measures will be deployed for the duration of the Fetes de Bayonne Festival in Bayonne, Pyrenees-Atlantiques, between Wednesday, 25 and Sunday, 29 July. It is indicated that 1,000 extra security personnel will be deployed and roadblocks will be implemented across the town. It is expected that close to one million people will attend the festival.

Members are reminded of the increased security presence and should remain vigilant in large crowds order to limit the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. In the event of significant overland travel disruption, it is recommended to allow additional time for travel and consider alternative routes so as to minimise the impact on business continuity.
