The Brierley guide plops you onto a ferry boat at Caminha, leads you around Monte Tecla for A Guarda and doesn't seem to mention, Castro de Santa Tegra, the Iron Age fort with those abundant stone circles. The climb up seems a bit daunting, so I am considering a day off in A Guarda/Caminha for a tour bus up to the site. Has anyone seen Castro de Santa Tegra, taken a tour? Know of a company which organizes?
Thanks
Scruffy

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Scruffy,

Five years ago my husband and I drove there from Tui. The castro was interesting and the steep road up tben had a guardian to keep tresspassers away off hours.
When the site was open visitors could wander at will.

If you get up to Viana do Castello do also visit the similar Citania de Santa Luzia at the top of the "hill" behind the pousada. The views of the sea are splendid!
