Hello

I would be grateful for some more advice from fellow Pilgrims, upon arriving at Madrid I will need to get to Chamartin.
I understand you can get on the Cercanias at Terminal 4 to get to Chamartin ,is this one train direct? or do you need to get on another?

I understand on the Metro you change lines? Which is the best and less confusing to do? Metro or Cercanias?

Best Wishes

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Thanks Amancio

I have been looking at info about the train and the airport this morning.
I arrive at T1 you can go outside and get on a bus|(green) to get to T4 - then I should be able to find the Cercanias train to Chamartin?

Hi, Carol,
I was trying to find a map of T4 for you, but instead I found a very good list of all of the transportation options at the airport. http://www.aena-aeropuertos.es/csee/Sat ... 727006245/ (this is the page for the many bus options, including the shuttle between terminals, but from the dropdown menu you can find info on trains, metro, taxi, etc).

The buses between T4 and T1 are free and run very frequently. I think the total travel time would be about 20 minutes, because the two terminals are very far apart.

When you arrive at T4, you will see Metro and Cercania signs. They are both located on the -1 floor.

The train to Chamartin is non-stop and takes less time than the bus between the two airport terminals! It's about 11 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes. Metros run much more frequently, but with the changing and hassle involved, I'd stick with the Cercanias.

Buen camino, Laurie

Thank you Laurie

I think its worthgetting to T4 - to get train direct to Chamartin

Safe journey to all Pilgrims

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
