Hi.
I plan to do the Camino de la Régordane, also called Chemin de Saint Gilles in France, starting in Le Put en Velay around 12th of May and finishing in Saint Gilles near Nîmes 10 or 11 days later. Is there anyone out there who has done this walk?
I will bring a tent, so I would love to know about camping sites along the way. And of course any other information on this Camino is also very welcome, as are tips on any guide books on this camino.
I walked the via Podiensis from Le Puy en Velay to SJPdP a few years ago, and that was maybe the most beautiful hike I've made in Europe,.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi MethaV,
I did this walk about 10 years ago and loved it! I am sorry - I don’t know about camping- we stayed in gîtes and small hotels. The landscape is great. At first we were trying to follow the Chemin de Saint Gilles - but it was very often on or near the road so after a couple of days we just followed the GR (700? I forget the number). We bought the topo guide book in a tourist office.

I do remember that many of the villages did not have bars or shops so you might want to keep some food in your pack. And the weather definitely got much hotter as we moved south! (mid May). We went from no leaves yet on the trees to 32 degrees in a little over a week!

Cheers,
Mary Louise

As you probably know from the Le Puy route, the best guidebooks are the Miam Miam Dodo books, published by Le Vieux Crayon. Wonderfully detailed, and although they're in French they're very easy to use, since they're mostly symbols. Their guide to Regordane also covers the Stevenson route, which runs through many of the same towns, and often provides an alternative for walking each day. My wife and I are walking the Stevenson ourselves in May, but are planning sometimes to follow the Regordane. The MMD guidebook also comes in an electronic edition, but it is cumbersome to use because the text doesn't conform to a cellphone screen. I ordered the guidebook from the publisher and it arrived in less than 10 days to USA west coast. Here's the link to the publisher's website: https://www.levieuxcrayon.com/accue...in-de-stevenson-et-regordane-ed2022-2023.html

Hello @MethaV

I walked La Regordane in 2020. I loved the trail. Afterwards I put together a resource which I posted here on the forum (see pages 8 & 9 for La Regordane).

My journey started at the French /Swiss border and finished near Agen in Le Lot et Garonne. I didn´t carry a tent...

Thanks, mspath and andycohn for your answers.
I will look for the Miam Miam Do Do. Used it for the via Podiensis and yes, it is really good. I speak rather good French so that will not be a problem. And who knows, I might do the Stevenson route further on. I will stay in France for one more week now, so I will order the book and hope I will have it before leaving. Otherwise it is ok, I will be back end of April.
Bon chemin to you too - whenever it will be...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
