Holy Year from Pamplona 2010, SJPP 2011, Lisbon 2012, Le Puy 2013, Vezelay (partial watch this space!) 2014; 2015 Toulouse-Puenta la Reina (Arles)
I love Pamplona, always difficult for me to leave, so I extend my stay leaving late by way of the Chinese restaurant (well Spa-niese but here in Jerusalem there is very little Chinese food) just off-Camino before the park as you leave heading for Cizur Menor and the wonderful Maribel Roncal albergue. Still time to poke around, not much to do in CM. Drop off there the mochila and after an uninspiring 3-4k walk out the NA 7015 to the west to Gazólaz one finds the Santa Maria de Gazólaz church. A small, Navarre style church preserving a small porch entry with marvelous Romanesque capital sculptures and entrance.

Not spectacular but is a lovely detour for those who love the Romanesque small but exquisite

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

First Part Oct. 5 2018 (StJ)-Oct. 19 (Boadillo); 2nd Part May 5 (Boadilla) to May 26, 2019.
Can I reserve the Maribel Roncal albergue by email, or must it be What's App? I do not have a smart phone and my Spanish is poor--email would be easier if allowed by the hostel.

Hello. I am considering walking the Camino for the first time this fall, probably beginning the third week of September in St. Jean. But I keep reading about how crowded the Camino is, including...
Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Hi everyone -- After walking the Frances from SJpdP last October, I'm planning to revisit the bit between Logrono and Burgos this July, following different stages. It's the section where I had...
I started out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on 1 May. It turned out to be an unforgetable day. Above 1,000 m or so it snowed, catching many people unprepared. Later that day "many" walkers were...
And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁
