Hello. I am very interested in hiking the Camino de Santiago in early July 2023. I want to fly into Barcelona, rest a day for jet lag, and then take a 4 hour bus ride to Pamplona to see the bulls run. Maybe stay 2 nights and then start the Camino from Pamplona.
About myself. I am American, a senior woman. I am very healthy and fit and plan to stay that way. I am looking for female companion(s) to meet me maybe in Pamplona in early July 2023 and go as far on the Camino as they wish.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
If you are on Facebook look for the Camigas group of women.

I don't think that it's necessary nor particularly desirable to commit to walking with someone you don't know. There will be plenty of other solo women on the Camino.

I would book accommodation in Pamplona for San Fermín NOW.

The bus takes almost 6 hours, but the train is just under 4 hours.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
If you don't meet anyone in advance - I wouldn't worry too much. Stay in albergues and you will undoubtedly meet people who you will end up walking with at times. I personally preferred walking by myself and then meeting up with people at the albergues in the afternoon/evening.

As Trecile stated; I would book accommodations now as well.

San Fermin in Pamplona can be crazy and expensive. The small town of Sahagün, the unofficial halfway point of the Camino, has a few days where they have a running of the bulls to celebrate the town's saint. Around June 12.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Hi, Rick and Peg. I am not surprised to hear San Fermin is crazy and expensive. Pamplona is where I want to start though. And the bulls have been kind of a bucket list experience for me. I can't go earlier than July. If anyone has ever stayed in Pamplona during San Fermin, I would love to hear more. Regards - Chathol

Choosing a walking partner can be tricky. My son and I were well matched in pace when he was 13 and 5'5", but now he is 6'2". Now he is patient with me as he changes his stride, or waits for me at an agreed on point on the way ahead. My older sister wants me to walk the camino with her, but she wants to book all her accommodations (no albergues), eat at expensive restaurants (I don't have that kind of cash), and have her luggage carried (I carry my own stuff.). I also want to stop for mass or go into a church to pray, without the feeling that someone outside is tapping their foot waiting for me. I like to stop at museums too. So consider physical ability, money, interests and expectations.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
