Connecting Coastal to Central - Fao to Barcelos

Hoping everyone is well! I was looking into heading from the coastal way over to the central while in Fao. Any thought ok doing this north vs south of the river? (Im game for near anything, but if national roads can be avoided…) Thanks in advance!

Why should you do this ?
It is all unwaymarked and only are National roads which lead back to Barcelos so you go back southwards
The next waymarked and safe cut off is in Caminha where you can follow the Minho river to Vila Nova de Cerveira and Valença do Minho..
