Best experience ever!
Time of past OR future Camino
2017
I am so excited with just over 3 weeks until my first camino. This Canadian is looking forward to a 6 week break. I will spend a day in Biarritz before grabbing the train to St. Jean Pied de Port. Staying in Orisson on the evening of May 1st before continuing onwards. The plan is to take leisurely pace and enjoy the experience. Looking forward to forming friends with my new camino family.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

It sounds like a wonderful plan and plenty of time.

Buen Camino!

Dunno if I would characterize the Camino as a 6 week "Break" or not. Kind of compares it to two weeks in a resort in Florida. For me it was much, much more than that. I expect that you, like many others will find this too. When I got back, lots of friends asked me about my "Break", and I was unable to think about it along those lines. I am not trying to scare or scold you here.....you will understand when you get back that this is a truly unique experience. Its not always fun - its not always comfortable - its not very relaxing. But for most, it is a memorable experience that allows them to take home a fresh perspective on their own life. Many build close and rewarding relationships with their fellow pilgrims that endure. I did not speak to anyone in Santiago that was not glowing from having done it, although there was one woman who had a stress fracture in her foot, and was looking forward to some time off her feet.

Sounds like you have done all the planning you really need to do. I hope your shoes are well broken in, and you have made friends with your backpack. You're in for the trip of your life. Enjoy it all.

Buen Camino!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thanks, I plan on enjoying 'mi camino'. I meant a "break" from work. This has been in the planning stages for 3 years and I haven't had a "break" from corporate work for over a year. I'm mentally tired and it will be awesome to see my planning come to fruition and move my brain in a different direction. Thank you for your perspective. It validates what I am expecting. Cheers!
