My husband and I walked the first half of this camino in 2019, from Görlitz to Leipzig. You can find my general information on the route, info on the first part and a Photovideo here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/via-regia-der-oekumenische-pilgerweg.66893/
Last autumn we walked from Leipzig to Eisenach/Wartburg. We were lucky with the weather and had a great hike! We chose a few alternative routes: Bad Kösen, Bad Sulza, Nermsdorf and a few days later down to Buchenwald. Here is my photo video. Ask if there is anything you would like to know.

Thank you for posting. It reflects the Via Regia very well I think & and it brings back good memories.

I walked it last year, for a second time actually, that's how much I liked it. May consider a third time, to try the alternative routes you mention ;)

Walked the part Naumburg to Erfurt. Amazing landscape, very good wine, friendly people, many signifant historical sites near or on the trail.
My (now former) wife at that time stayed in an Hotel near Bad Sulza (Auerstedt).

I really recommend this trail.

Has anyone got information on the hospice (not the auberge) a Great Saint Bernard Pass? I've read their website, and I'd appreciate insights as to how comfortable it is, quality of the food, etc...
Can't get into the official Via Francigena site. I've used it for years, but today all I get when I try to enter it is 'File not found". For example, if I enter...
Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Jougne, the end of the last stage in France? Thanks. Karl
