Ditch Pigs Cleanup Crew: 2017

Many, various, and continuing.
Don't look now, but the DITCH PIGS are back, cleaning up our 100 kms of Camino for the NINTH consecutive YEAR!

We've trimmed down our numbers and shortened out work-week this year, gathering on 26 Nov. and clearing out of town on the 30th. We did a really thorough job from Castrojeriz all the way to Sahagun in 2016, so this time we'll focus on identified Palencia province "hot spots" as well as the Camino de Madrid from Medina de Rioseco to Sahagun... with special care given to the Moratinos labyrinth and the Phil Wren Memorial Tree.

If everyone shows up who says they will, we have a full crew already, but stop in if you're in the neighborhood and we'll put you to work!

If you'd like to contribute to the cause, we need donors to fund our daily Menu del Dia as well as the trash bags, gloves, hot drinks, and fuel for the SquealMobile. Every little bit helps: you can contribute via the PayPal button on the Peaceable blog: http://moratinoslife.blogspot.com.es/

I think what you and the Ditch Pigs are doing is absolutely amazing! We are on the Camino Frances right now (in Cacabelos) and I’ve often prayed for the unsung heros who mark the path, clear the underbrush, plant trees and clean up garbage! I’d really like to make a donation but can’t figure out how. How do I find the ‘Peaceable Blog’??? This old lady isn’t very high tech. Thanks again for doing what you are doing!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Dear Ditch Pigs, I hope my donation went through. Please let me know and thanks again for this labor of love. Please keep us in your prayers as we tackle the route to O’Cebreiro tomorrow

We are at capacity! We are:
Mary Louise from Canada;
Keith (Tyrrek) from Upper England,
Bridget Buchan from I am not sure where;
James from Sheffield UK;
Mike Matynka (Wise Pilgrim) from Iceland/Santiago;
and KathyPilgrim from San Francisco USA, who will hold down the fort.
And me, from Pittsburgh/Moratinos. I will drive the car and play Boss Hog!

Generous donors have given us enough already to cover our gas and lunch costs, but we could use just a leeeeetle more to buy those big black trash bags from Madrid. Thanks to everyone who's already ponied-up their support!

I was offline when this all happened so I missed being able to send fulsome praise in the moment when everyone was there! Thank you one and all. I hope you had a lot of fun together dipping in and out of those ditches!
