Documentary DVD on Camino Frances

Prepare for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island, Oct 27 to Nov 2
Hello Mary,
There are dozens of DVDs on the camino – not only the Camino Frances. A quick search on amazon.com will offer a variety of DVD's.
Buying one is not that straight forward! Most are only available in Spanish. Others have English sub-titles. Some DVDs can only be played in different Zones – or on different systems. I think the US system is NSCT and the European is PAL and then the Zones run from 0, 1, 2, 3 etc etc. Some new DVDs are recorded on DVD+ and others on DVD- so will play on some players but not on others. You can buy DVD players that are zone free, code free, multi system players but these might only play on "multi system" televisions. Complicated huh?

These are some of the DVDs and CD’s that I have on the Camino Frances.

CD Rom : "La Meta del Camino" -
Camino de Santiago: by Everest in Spanish. Video on the Camino Frances.
El Camino de Santiago – English - cartoon
The Naked Pilgrim – English
Santiago de Compostela: Art and History – English.
The Pilgrims’ Route to Santiago – English documentary made in 1998
Las Peregrinas, The Women who walk – Sue Kenney’s documentary
Oh Ye of Little Faith – Paul Tobey
El Camino de Santiago – no un camino de rosas – English subtitles.
The Way Within Without – English

You can buy DVDs from the Confraternity of St James – http://www.csj.org.uk Click on Bookshop and then on DVDs

I am sure that the Consejo Jacobeo will release new DVD documentaries to coincide with the 2010 Holy Year.
