Hello all apologize if I am posting this in the wrong place.

I am 7 days from finishing the Camino Frances having started in SJDPP on the 29 of May.

My credential was not stamped by the issuing organisation. Does this matter?

Appreciate it is a bit late to ask but hopefully it is not an issue.

I have been collecting stamps daily and will collect 2 each day from Sarria but am a bit worried I didn't get a stamp when I received the credential.

Regards
P

I don't think so. A couple of weeks ago, I received a compostela and my credential (bought through Ivar) wasn't stamped in that box.
I have sold tens of thousands of them and never stamped them. The pilgrims office knows about this and is fine with it.

I got my first stamp in that box in the church in St. Jean. The person issuing my Compostela was overjoyed and gave me a final stamp from the Cathedral then she said "now you have the church at the start and the end". It is not a requirement though.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I have had credentials that have had their first stamp from a pilgrim office or a church and also from the first bar or albergue I stayed at and I have never ever had a problem or even a mention of it from the volunteers at the Pilgrim office in Santiago.

I did the same with problems.
This is rather an odd comment. To say she did "the same with problems"and not to elaborate what those problems were seems very strange. What I think is much more likely is that she meant to type "I did the same with no problems" (which needs no further explanation), but somehow mistyped, leaving out the important word. Perhaps she does not know that she can edit her post. She is Italian, apparently. Perhaps English is not her first language. I am surprised that she has not reacted to the notifications that she must be getting from Ivar.

The post was made only a few hours ago and we need to allow members to take time away from the forum :D😂!

The alerts/notifications depend on how you have set things up. For example, I do not get any notifications except as a bubble on the bell icon at the top of my computer screen, and that is only when I am online, logged into my forum account.

For any further comments or questions about notifications, feel free to send me a private Conversation so we don't distract from the thread topic.

No need for worry! Most secular agencies issuing these are secular and are obtained from an online request and they are typically mailed to the prospective pilgrim in advance of them starting their journey. If obtained at a specific start point and from a church or cathedral, they are typically stamped as they are purchased as a matter of courtesy, but there is no such requirement.

I finished last week. Same circumstances, no problem. I had the Hotel in SJPDP, Orison (for breakfast) next day and the usual once a day stamps until Sarria where I got the required 2 per day.
