Donating Member...

I have been a member of this forum for almost two years and a donating member for much of that time. Several days ago my status of being a "donating member" has disappeared from my profile and now I am getting advertisements, which are rather annoying.

I had recently been thinking about making a new donation to the forum and will probably do so. I am however, confused as to why I was not notified about my loss of being a donating member, unless it is some kind of computer glitch.
Has anyone else had this same thing happen??

Chris, your situation does seem odd, perhaps just an unintended error. I recently received notice that my status as a donating member was about to end, so I made a donation and all is well as I hope it will be for you soon.

I didn't receive a notice that I recall which is why I was confused. Maybe I somehow skipped over a notification announcing that I needed to renew by accident. I will make another donation again soon.

Hi Chris,
I had the same thing happen last week. I believe that I should have my donation paid up for another 2 years at least. Logging in using my password seemed to clear all the advertising, even though I’d never had to before. Or had any problems before! Hopefully it’s sorted now...

The forum should send out an automated e-mail 7 days before the donation expires. It might have ended up in your spam folder. Will send you a PM.

Thanks for that link, Ivar. This was so easy to do! I think even easier than the first time. I am now good for 2 years! I hope this thread will get some newbies thinking about making a donation, especially if they get as much help and interaction from other members as I do. I appreciate all you do and your help from the mods. They are level headed and do a great job!

Is there a way to make a donation (because I agree that Ivar's work needs financial support) but still keep the ads? I quite like some distraction. The ads remind me of other things I wanted to do or buy and this way instead of simply browsing I end up doing something useful too.

The same thing has happened to me. I thought I was a donating member but it doesn't show under my name

Hola Ivar, those of us as members for over 5 years really, truly appreciate your services. Thus this is, I believe just about the best E20 you can spend/donate. Also big thanks for the recent upgrade. I see we now have a range of "likes". Cheers for now

I see you as a donating member... you show up with two active donations (see image below). If you see ads it might be that you are not logged on to the forum (if you log out, I do not know who you are). Could that be it?
