We stayed in El Burgo Ranero a few nights ago and wondered if anyone knew what happened to the marsh there? We were there last in Spring 2016 and the marsh was teeming with life and the sounds of birds and frogs. Now it was dry and also had been recently burned. We wondered if that were a part of seasonal revival for the marsh or what happened. We missed sitting and listening there.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
It was burnt when I came through there on 2 May this year. The timber jetty/observation platform out into the lake had been cut at the land end presumably to protect it from total fire damage. There was plenty of water and some wildlife. I paid particular attention because I volunteer at a local wetlands which is also very seasonal. I love this photo despite the obvious fire damage in the foreground because of the symbol in the sky of resurrection. Nature knows how to regenerate after a fire.

Also when I first walked the CF in autum in 2015 I remember seeing a sign for wetlands but not really noticing them. So I think @falcon269 is correct and they are very much dependent on rainfall and season. It has been a particularly dry summer this year. At least there was plenty of water in the spring breeding season this year. ;);):):)

Lovely photo. In my area we refer to those as "chemtrails"

A few years ago we too loved sitting and listening in the timber look out. A welcome break from a long and dull walk day.
