Camino 2024 unknown starting 4/1 from somewhere.
This was a long day 9 hours and 37km's ???? Thank goodness the last seven was pretty easy. Found a nice two star with a restaurant Hotel Canero 20 euro's, dinner another 10 euro's. I think breakfast is free, not sure. Happy Easter to all you Pilgrims out there.

Neve, I hope you caught up with your friend Sebastian.

Happy easter from villaviciosa!

Tomorrow I walk to Gijon. Today there was a lot of mud, really got messy! Do you remember if the walk from here to gijon is a messy one? Or is it pretty road based? Thanks!

I hope you are staying at Hotel Carlos 1. Suni is wonderful. There is also a good place to eat, I believe it was called Milagro.

The walk to Gijon is pretty tough. There are two climbs, the first being the toughest. Just before you get to Gijon there is a campsite Deva, you can stay at for 5 or 6 euro. If you choose to go into Gijon, the Albergue Juvenil is ok but it is out of the main part of town. I stayed there. For 23,5 Euro's you get dinner, breakfast and a bed. The meal was pretty spartan. I skipped breakfast since it did not start till 8:30. If you have the funds, you might want to look at something in town on the Camino. It is a long confusing walk back to the Camino from the Albergue. The next day is also a less enjoyable walk out of town and prior to Aviles. A large industrial area.

Hope you are doing better with your Achilles.

Ultreya,
Joe

Happy to hear you are doing well. Most likely we will not meet this trip. My flight home leaves Madrid the morning of May 1st. Therefore, I have little leeway in my days left. Best of luck on the remainder of your journey. I will continue to try and provide good intel on what is ahead.

Buen Camino,
Joe
