Has anyone stayed here? Is it far to the start of the Camino? It looks like good value for a B&B. My plan is to walk from SJPP to Orisson then taxi back to SJPP for a night, and then taxi back to Orisson the next day to head to Roncesvalles. My reason for this is my husband has had major spinal reconstruction and while he is literally a walking miracle we have decided that he will start in Roncesvalles, but I want to have the Pyrenees experience! A$44,000 worth of titanium in his back and a brilliant surgeon got him walking again. We are in our mid 60's and didn't think he would be able to walk at all and I would be going alone but during his recup process he read all my Camino books and is hooked. We just have to plan OUR Camino and he will walk/taxi/bus it !! Thanks everyone.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

I have stayed there a couple of times. It located on the same street as the pilgrim office..just further up. This is the street that leads out of town on the Camino so is convenient
I like it.

Thank you. Are there other B&B's that you have stayed in and would recommend? I am wondering about staying 2 nights in some, using a taxi to and from where I finished on the Camino. While my husband is enthusiastic we are both realistic about his capabilities, but they say that miracles occur on the road ! Sonia

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Hello Sonia.
The rule is that pilgrims may stay only for one night in the refuge apart from illnes. In this case they are entitled to stay for maximum 3 nights.
This rule is however only for albergues assosiated to the Saint James confraternity in Santiago.
Private albergues are indepent and must not stick to the rules of the confraternity.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I think that Sonia was asking about B&B type accommodations rather than albergues. There is, of course, no restrictions on private accommodations anywhere along the Camino Francis.

Haven't stayed here, but I know the owner is British (or at least a native english speaker) and the place is only a few minutes (3?) away from the pelgim's office. The place is just outside the citadel.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Yes, he is a expat Brit......a real nice guy.
This a real B&B in an old house with decent rooms and a good breakfast.
There are many other places inSt. Jean but this one of the many good ones.

Stayed there last August. A beautiful room with fine plumbing, most gracious host, excellent breakfast of local foods. An outstanding place to stay before starting our Camino from the Pilgrims Office a couple of blocks down the street.

Thank you all for your feedback. Planning is going well....I know not to plan TOO much, but due to my husband's disabilities I need to do some. What about Estella? Anyone know of a nice B&B or hotel? Thanks again. Sonia
