European Francigena Marathon:
May 27th, 2018.
From Acquapendente to Montefiascone, 42 Km, no need to mention the beauty of the path.

Imagine more than 2000 Pilgrims walking in joy and lightness all together...

A very long day...42km (26 miles).
I have walked that distance a couple of times. Whew!
I find that anything over 30-35 km is extreme for me.
I prefer about 25km

If I were in the area I would definitely be in the group.

It's not compulsory to walk all the 42 Km. You can walk shorter legs (12, 18, 23 or 30 Km, as one likes or feels).
Every 5 Km fruit and beverages are available. And in Bolsena a huge dish of macaroni pasta will be offered to the walkers.
Last year in the "group expedition" from our town there were two young pilgrims (a girl and a boy, 10 years old) who successfully and cheerfully completed the 23 Km leg.

Walking with all those people sounds like my idea of hell. I prefer a lonely path…
