Eventually doing it!!!

After thinking about the camino for about 4 years and reading all the advice on this forum we've committed outselves (hubby and me) to doing the camino in May '08.

Unfortunately we can't do the whole thing but will start in St Jean on 23/05. We will have about 12-14 days to walk so not sure where we'll get to in that time but have decided that it doesn't really matter.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
You'll probably get as far as Burgos I'd have thought. Nice stretch of the country to do though.

Good choice!

Mouse,

You can always finish the journey in another year or across several years. Imagine the excitement (and obsession) between walks!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

That's what I'm worried about  Instead of visiting my daughter in London we'll be wanting to walk!!

Why not pitstop in London for a few days, then get a cheap Ryan Air flight to wherever you're heading for the Camino?

And when you're in London, try to drop by the CSJ office to say hello. That way your London visit will be camino-related somehow.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Maybe you can talk your daughter into walking with you ;-)

 I don't think so ....... my son-in-law maybe but definitely not her.

She's coming out to SA in March next year so will be bringing us the updated book from CSJ.

Hey, you'll be doing what I've already started! It's going to take me 3 trips to finish & I've already finished the first leg (SJPdP to Logrono--I was aiming for Burgos, but slowed down a bit; on deck now is Logrono-Leon) Don't feel rushed & take your time. If you feel like stopping instead of continuing on to the popular places, go ahead & stop! The albergues at Urtega & Lorca are great, so I heard, as well as both in Villamayor de Monjardin. :)

Buen Camino!

That's one of the reasons why we starting at SJPP - hubby couldn't rush if he tried (doesn't even know the meaning of the word!!!).

We would rather enjoy the whole experience and not walk as far - good reason to go back and walk some more.
