I am planning to leave SJPDP on Sept 7/8 on my first Camino. This forum has been very helpful in my planning. I finally get a sabbatical at work allowing me the time to do it right. Hope to meet many new friends along The Way.

Congratulations Tim, and welcome to the forum. Now you have to pick out your gear, and start some training with your pack. Book your flights, and some places to stay up until the trail head, wherever that is for you. Beyond that, try not to plan too much!

Let me be the first to wish you Buen Camino!

You'll have a great time that's for sure Tim. Buen Camino

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Very excited for you Tim! I'm also tackling my first Camino and leaving SJPDP on Sept 8 with a reservation at Orisson that night. Maybe we'll run into each other. Happy planning and Buen Camino!

My plan is to wake up each day and see how it unfolds. Part of what I am trying to learn from this experience is to not try to control everything and let it happen. They say the Camino Provides. That is what I hope to experience.

The hardest thing to give up is control. But don't worry, you lose that early on, it will be in the dust of your footprints as you trudge up or slide down yet another mountain.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.

Most times it does Tim, the other times you have to work it out yourself. Enjoy your Camino, it is the start of a whole new life for you. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the Camino.
