Foot glide question

Help please,
Air Canada lost my bag - fortunately only a few things in it, I’ve already bought replacement poles. But I also had a roll- on type of foot glide called 2 Toms Sport Shield which worked very well for me. Does anyone know of something equivalent I can buy in Spain or even St Jean Pied du Port?

Hi, as a recommendation from a french Podiatrist I did buy NOK Sports Akeleien Anti-chafing cream and I would say it did work for me very well. Buen camino Paul

If I decide to use one, 2 Toms is my prefered anti-friction prep, for a number of reasons, the main being that it is far longer lasting than vaseline type goops. It also can be easier to remove from skin when you need to treat a blister and need a covering, like various tapes, to adhere properly. Unfortunately, it is hard to find a replacement that is equivalent due to the nature of the formula which is high in silicone and is applied as a viscous liquid.

The next on my preference list would be a preparation which is high in beeswax content. The Compeed stick mentioned above is one, but is also hugely expensive for the amount you purchase. Body Glide (various packaging and target marketing, but mostly the same thing) is available in Spain and France, and should be found in an outdoor equipment store like Decathlon or specialty shops focused on backpacking and climbing.

A snug fitting, not gangrene inducing, thin-padded sock which will not move much on the foot will also work. You need to allow the insole to slip against the sock, and not the sock slipping against your skin. Keep your footwear slightly loose so this doesn't force that sock to rub against your skin.

I used NOK 5 years ago, very good. I notice aptonia's texture is very similar to it.

I used Vicks Vaporub. Available in practically every farmacia. Worked great and no blisters.
