Footwear, weather and raingear

We are walking the Camino from Pamplona to Santiago from June 5th to July 16th, 2012. What kind of shoes and rain gear do you suggest? Should we bring rain pants also. Also, how cold could it get in Galacia or elsewhere? Is any body encountering Bed Bugs? Thanks for the feedback

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Might I suggest that you browse the FAQ and Equipment Questions forums on the board, search on the specific terms, and see what information is available there about the time of year that you plan to walk.

There is a good site at http://www.climatetemp.info/spain/ that has the long term averages for various weather parameters. That should give you some idea about what to expect, noting that it provides little information about the variability that occurs.

Altus Rain Poncho or other lightweight rain gear. Frog Toggs are good.

Read my blog on bedbugs as you will most certainly at least encounter them once.

You could get sun, rain, wind, cold, and there is just no way to predict the weather. But it most likely will be HOT rather than cold.

I personally DO take lightweight rain pants because my hips and legs tend to get cold, but a lot of people just wear shorts under their poncho. However, I think if I were walking in June/July, I'd leave the rainpants at home.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
