Hi, my daughter and I are hoping to walk the Camino in June/July, starting from Roncesvalles we plan on flying into Biarritz - how do we get from the airport to our starting point? Any ideas/suggestions?
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi, I'm starting on June 2nd from St Jean and flying into Biarritz. Then getting train from Biarritz to Bayonne and then Bayonne to St Jean. Guess you can get a taxi to Roncesvalles from St Jean. Pre bought tickets online for trains. Check out train strike dates before you book. There are threads on here about the strikes with dates. Check them out.
It is a very pleasant two days walk from St Jean to Roncesvalles via Valcarlos. There is a bus service to Pamplona but not via Roncesvalles as I recall. Unless you have already booked your flights you might want to consider traveling via Madrid. There is an excellent traveling to and from the Camino section on the forum where you will find all the info you need.
Welcome to the forum!
At the top of the web page there is a 'Search forums'.
It is a splendid starting point to begin planing your Camino.
I entered 'Biarritz to Roncesvalles' and it showed serveral pages of links.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Bus from the airport (ask at the information desk - it's facing you as you emerge into arrivals) to Bayonne Mairie. (Town Hall) Takes about 25 minutes.
Walk across the river to Bayonne SNCF station.
Train (or replacement bus) to SJPdP.

Hello.
I am considering walking the Camino for the first time this fall, probably beginning the third week of September in St. Jean. But I keep reading about how crowded the Camino is, including...
Hi everyone --
After walking the Frances from SJpdP last October, I'm planning to revisit the bit between Logrono and Burgos this July, following different stages. It's the section where I had...
I started out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on 1 May. It turned out to be an unforgetable day. Above 1,000 m or so it snowed, catching many people unprepared. Later that day "many" walkers were...
And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns.
Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please?
