LIVE from the Camino Go to the pilgrim house in Santiago !!

A selection of Camino Jewellery
I totally agree, Nate and Faith and their coworkers are doing a fabulous job of helping pilgrims with practical things as well as the less easily defined ones. Pilgrim House is a place where you can meet up with lost friends after arriving in Santiago, get boarding passes printed and clothes cleaned and dried, somewhere to go to talk to someone, or just hang out and rest and reflect away from the busy city. I have been there many times and probably still owe them money for a box of Kleenex.

It is a marvellous place
A big shout out for Nate and Faith

Awesome - congratulations on your project and THANK YOU !
Where exactly is pilgrim house? Sounds like a great great place

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

In addition to things mentioned above, Pilgrim House will:
Wash and dry your laundry with loving care for €5 - I mentioned this on another thread.
Keep your backpack for you if you have an urgent errand to do, like the young man who was desperate to leave his pack somewhere safe so he could make it to the pilgrim mass at the cathedral at the last minute. I took him to Pilgrim House.
Help interested pilgrims to contemplate the meaning of their Camino through group meditation.
There are probably many other needs for which they can help or refer, just ask.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
How I could have spent time in Santiago two years in a row and missed Nate and Faith, and Pilgrim House, is a big mystery to me. NEXT time for sure I will be coming for a visit, if for no other reason but to meet these 2 special Camino angels and to say thank you--especially to Faith who has done so much in the course of this difficult year!

I volunteered at the Pilgrim Office in October, and they were an invaluable resource ! It is located adjacent to Rua Bella, and the doorway is difficult to see, so keep an eye out !

I am soooo happy to see more people getting the word about the Pilgrim House. I wrote on another thread what a wonderful service Faith & Nate provide and couldn't understand why more Pilgrims did not know about it. I am still touched every time I think of the birthday cake they arranged for me on my 80th on Nov 2. Now THAT is going over and above…...

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Hi Christian, no not a restaurant but a warm and welcoming spot where you can just 'hang out'; talk to other pilgrims, use wifi, fix a cup tea….and other services as stated in Hamshire's post. 19 Rua Nova, just one street over from the Pilgrim Office…..they also have get-togethers a couple of evenings a week (not sure about their winter schedule) where Pilgrims share their experience with Nate and/or Faith.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-

Yes, the Pilgrim Office and Pilgrim House two different places….

Thanks Moving Maggie and SYates, I looked at the website. I thought it was a pub with wine and food, thanks for the clarification.

You can prepare your own food there, not sure how they think about vino being consumed on the premises ;-) SY

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I'm not sure I would do so well there, can't cook and vino is muy importante.

Nate and Faith are just delightful! Years before they had the Pilgrim House up and running they were loving strangers - they came and chatted to us one morning as our kids were tearing round a playground in Santiago. They gave us recommendations of places to eat and even offered to take us - all eleven of us - to the airport a few days later. While we did not take them up on their offer, I believe they would have done it had we asked!
Their kids were delightful too.
We are looking forward to visiting Pilgrim House at the end of June.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Good information. Thanks for all the inputs and everyone please have a Happy Thanksgiving (and a Merry Christmas). Que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I was just alerted to the existence of this thread, and want to thank you all for the wonderful comments. It is very encouraging and I feel humbled by your generous words.

There are some very important names that need to be mentioned here. Jeremiah, Danielle, Gale and Anne have worked tirelessly and care for pilgrims in remarkable ways. Pilgrim House would not be what it is without each of their contributions.

Additionally, a good number of wonderful pilgrim volunteers add a richness that we cannot claim as our own.

And lastly, but most importantly, every pilgrim who visits truly makes Pilgrim House the special place it is. Thank you all; it has been a great pleasure and privilege to get to know you all.

Nate

Oh, and by the way, while we do not sell wine (or really anything), wine is always welcome to be brought in.

And we never discourage the sharing of wine
I'm sold natefaith.. :)

I'm looking forwards to see/meet you all when I'm there towards the middle Oct 2016 when I will be arriving to SDC.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Good to hear, next time I am in Santiago I'll bring a bottle to share ;-) SY
