Great albergue in Pamplona!

Hi all - just back from walking SJPDP to Logrono - great trip! Had a stopover for a night in Pamplona....stayed at a great albergue:

The owner there was so friendly and helpful. It's a really cool modern funky design....Japanese-style 'pods'. There are 20 bunks in 1 room but each bunk it's like it's own private little hub! Each one has a pull down blind, 2 sockets for charging stuff, a bed light and a locker for storing valuables - very comfy pillows and matresses. It's a bit pricier @~€18/night but it is city centre and breakfast is included - breakfast is a good spread, self-service and available until 9:30am (Pamplona is great so a later night than usual is allowed!). The showers are the large 'rain' type ones...heaven after a long walk! Top marks from me

COOL!! Looks funky! This is what i imagine sleeping in a submarine would be like hahaha.

Is it new? In the centre? I wanted to stay in an albergue in pamplona centre last year that also looked very modern, but allas it was full. Ended up staying in a youth hostel. Is ok, but a totally different, not pilgrim, vibe. And thats not what you want, well, at least not me anyway

I will keep this in mind. I wouldn't mind a submarine experience.

Stayed there myself back in June. It's located fairly close to where you enter into Pamplona itself, on the right hand side.
Was able to stay out late that night, drinking with friends (got a wee bit pissed from the whisky-long walk to Uterga that next day ) as they give you a key to get back into the albergue.

Great to know, thank you, Dermot. Also, I note under 'Servicios' that peregrinos who wish to start from Roncesvalles can stay overnight at the albergue and get transported there the next day. Could be useful, especially for Saturday arrivals who want to get to Roncesvalles on Sunday, when there's no bus service.

Ya, forgot to mention location...it's right on the Camino route, just inside the city walls..pretty much the first albergue you'll come to...it's only 1 or 2 minute walk to the centre of the action. No curfew...the front door key is included with your bed locker key which works on a refundable euro coin mechanism so you won't forget it! Didn't know about the transport to Roncesvalles....useful to know!

Looks like a gem alright...but that price!! Ouch! Think I'll stick to the main albergue by the Cathedral.

Looks great. I`ll be going in early May next year and Ive marked it in my guide book as a definite possibility.

I can recommend this place. I stayed there last year. New, helpful & friendly people, and everything others have stated here. Take their phone no. with you: This is a private albergue, so you can call and reserve a bed. Perfect location vs. the centre of Pamplona.

I've stayed here and it's quite nice. I enjoyed it very much and the owner was sweet.
Also, he told me he throws backpacks into the garbage every week, so if anyone needs to switch out a pack, this is a good place to check.
