Time of past OR future Camino
2020
Here I am at Santiago de Compostella awaiting my plane for home. It has been a wonderful and unique experience.Reflecting here as I wait for flight I am very greatful firstly for the health to have been able to do the camino but also to the people who encouraged me and helped in practable ways.
I have not had one negative experience on my whole trip, except for one lousy meal at one albergue but I just laughed at that. All of my encounters with fellow perigrinos, albergue staff and owners, native spanish people, everyone has been good ,I feel blessed and greatful.
A special thanks to Nathfaith and the folk of Pilgrim House in Santiago de Compostella for the great and worthwhile work you do, for me a chat was so helpful for me,and yes Natfaith I have done my homework and written.
Only for the folk on this forum ,I would still be at home ,a big thanks to those who showed me the way.
On the way into Santiago last Thursday I followed a group of Spaniards through the maze of streets,at first they were giving me odd looks but when I explained in very very broken language that I needed help they embraced me as their own and made my camino finish so special and loving.
So off I go home to Ireland eventually in an indirect way, greatful and satisfied . To all I say Go raibh míla maith agatsa. Gratias .

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Congratulations! I trust you are now in home isolation to ensure you are not Covid positive? It is the responsible thing to do for ALL pilgrims walking 😉

@roamingpaddy , it is wonderful that you got to walk after all, and could share the journey with all of us - from the gnarly middle of the night beginning to glorious end. Congratulations, thank you, and welcome home!
Knowing how close you came to not going added a sweetness to the reading of your posts. (I am very glad you ignored my post..... 🙃 )
