Hello...introducing...

Hi All,

Just to introduce myself. I joined this excellent forum a few months ago and I dip in and out regularly to learn more. I did 200km of Camino Frances last year in July/August (I loved the summers!) and found it exhilarating (SJPDP - Najera). Didn't go this year, and am suffering withdrawal symptoms!! Am toying with the idea of doing the Cami de Sant Jaume next year, starting at Girona. Anyway hi to all and hope to get to know some of you along The Way (BTW, I've seen the movie about 7 times now!) Hi Gerry, welcome to the forum. I watched 'The Way' at the weekend, the first time since I walked the Frances earlier this year. It had a completely different effect on me from when I had watched it prior to walking, and my partner (who has not walked the camino) was also greatly moved. Just seeing all the scenery and landmarks made me quite emotional, the characters being a little far fetched did not bother me - it's just a film. But it did take me back.....

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, your blog brings back nice memories! I took a train from just outside Bayonne to SJPP but stayed at the Hostel just before Orisson. Next nite I stayed in the same monastery as you in Roncesvalles - those modern facilities and bunk cubicles bring back memories. Yes the Pyrenees are beautiful. No snow in July though .

Oh, I watch The Way mostly for the scenary and music, which I think are really good.
