Hi, My name is Ian, but you can call me proud dad :)

My daughter completed the 800Km Camino in August, from the foot of the Pyrenees to Santiago.
She's a recent Graduate in film production, who has a dream.
In itself, that makes me proud, but the real clincher is her determination to set off, on her own ( she's only 5'3" and not built for a full backpack), funded by herself, on crazy adventures !
2012 was a journey through France, to Italy, to Spain, to Denmark, to Sweden....
2013 was, El Camino...
But this time there was a purpose. She decided to document her entire Camino.
Her reasoning ? If she can do it, anyone can !
By documenting her Camino, she hopes to show how much fun can be had, how many friends you can make, but most importantly, to help others with useful tips she picked up along the way.
She is presenting this as a series. This link is her trailer. If you think it will help ? subscribe and watch the episodes. If not, no harm done........ But I'm still a proud dad.
Oh, and I'll hang around, as she's convinced her mother and I (as keen walkers) that we'd gain a lot if we took our own Camino........... You know what ?............ We just might. :)

Kind Regards

Ian

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Welcome proud dad with a woman like your daughter it looks like you will be kept busy polishing a few medals on your chest :D

As a parent too, I decided last year it was time I joined in the fun. It's much better being the one setting off and waving them goodbye. If I can walk 1000 km through France and Spain as a relatively unfit 59 year old, anyone can. And the best thing? Even my kids were impressed!! Get out there, go for it!

ha ha. Thanks for the encouraging words Dalston 999, and an excellent job completing your Camino.
At some point I think it will happen, but we do have various commitments at this time. The main one being our other daughter, with shiny new grandson for us, who unfortunately, lives about as far north in Sweden as is possible. Nice place, beautiful walks :) So at this time, we spend as much time there as possible.

Kind regards

Ian
