Hi there, fellow pilgrims.
Finally I made it, I walked the Olav's Way from Hjerkinn to Trondheim.
Eight days of impressive landscapes, suffering, enjoyment, cold, hot, rain, feet pain and hundreds of feelings that I'll take with me for the rest of my life.
Loved the Dovre mountains. Ryphusan was the only point where I met other pilgrims, the rest of the path I was alone.
Everybody was kind and helpful. A couple of times I finished my water and those farmers were kindly willing to refill my bladder.
I wore a pair of vent shoes so I got my feet completely soaked many times. The mountains seemed to be crying; thousands of streams slid down the hillsides making the path hard and uncomfortable, dangerous at times. That mud knows my backquarters very well.
Loved the stay at Gjesseheim Havdal. The owners were charming, the bed amazingly comfortable and the breakfast delightful. Holland is a small country but you can find a dutch almost everywhere.
I specially enjoyed the time I spent with Joar at Rennebu, chatting about the beautiful church, about the way, about life... So nice...
I totally recommend this norwegian path. Not easy. Big challenge. Fascinating.
One day I'll walk the entire way. I'll be back in the north.
