I wanted to post about a new albergue that opened a year ago. It’s called Albergue Fuente Sidres and is 2.5 km before Hontanas. It’s not in the guidebooks (too new) but is on Camino Ninja under a village called Castellanos de Castro. It’s run by a lovely lady called Diana. It has a bar, restaurant, small pool, cool music. The facilities are immaculate. Two 6 bed dorms. Super modern. Free laundry. It’s on booking.com. I am here right now. Prob best place I have stayed on three caminos. It looks like nothing at all from the path but please check it out.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

I stayed there two nights ago and couldn't agree more. Diana is awesome and so is her sidekick. What a character. The immaculate accommodations and dinner were great. Free laundry with solar dryer was unexpected. The sunset out on the deck was best spent with the other Pilgrims. Then we stayed outside to watch the full moon rise. Magical!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I agree. I had the pleasure to stay there in May. New, modern and Diana is a gem. If just all alberque had been like this it had been great.
