The Spanish Federation of Hospitaleros Voluntarios (HOSVOL) run training courses during the year- in Spanish - for pilgrims who want to serve in a Federation albergue. Service is usually for 15 days.
Courses are also held in Canada, the US, UK, France, Italy and South Africa.
If you are unable to attend a course, you can still apply for a posting but will need to arrive a few days early so that you can be trained
in sutu before being left in charge of an albergue.
Contact Anai at
anahosvol@caminosantiago.org.
The alternative is to apply at a private albergue - like Esprit du Chemin in St Jean. Choose your time of service and apply online at:

When volunteering at a private albergue just make sure they are not a for-profit albergue who will be only too pleased to have free labour!
You could also offer to serve in Santiago:

And, if they can't help you, you could contact Gordon at Casa Banderas in Vilacha. He needs volunteers.
