Hotel in St Jean

Hey guys

I tried a forum search but apparently it wouldn't work as the words were too common, so figured I would start a thread and ask.

So I will be arriving about 7pm on 19th September in St Jean, which is obviously too late to start the Camino so I hoping to find a place to stay. I found one hotel in the centre of St Jean and their website could be translated to English too, which is great as I don't speak French.

So I emailed them about a possible two night stay from 19th September and asked if this was possible. I also had a friend who is fluent in French translate it but so far (been a few days) I have had no reply.

So basically I was wondering if anyone knows of a place to stay in St Jean for two nights? How do I go about booking it also, do I make a deposit? I would rather do it via email as I think I would struggle doing it over the phone.

Thank you for the help!

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP

It is probably OK. Break the credit card number into at least two separate emails for greater security. That prevents someone seeing just one email from knowing your full credit card number. How you explain what you are doing to the hotel without knowing French, well ...

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Check out the cancellation policy before you book.
I can also recommend the Ramuncho Hotel. It is on the main Camino street ( Rue de la Citadelle) in the old town and just down the street from the Pilgrim Office. I have stayed there. Good restaurant and just walk out the door in morning to start walking. They do speak English.
Website in French but easy to follow. Reservations from the webpage.

hmmm not too sure about the actual rules for sending ones details, but I usually reply that I cant cause i will get in trouble with the card company but that I am happy to make a deposit using a secure line. They always reply back that that is ok they will make the reservation anyways.

In any instant make sure you dont give them the secure code (the 3 digits on the back of the card)

I would be very cautious about emailing a credit card number, even in multiple emails.
If you are still looking, In September 2009 I stayed at the Errecaldia which is just outside the wall of old town so its about a 2 minute walk from the Pilgrims office. It has a great view and the rooms are huge with private bath and breakfast was included. The owner spoke English so there was no problem communicating by email. At that time, he was not taking a deposit but that may have changed.

Enjoy!
