Looking forward to beginning the Portuguese Coastal the week after next, Porto to Santiago. How are people finding accommodation availability at the moment? Is booking in advance necessary? Any particular places that finding accom is proving difficult? On previous Camino’s I never booked anything as I prefer spontaneity but maybe that’s something I should reconsider this year?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

We are beginning our walk the Central route from Porto to Santiago 9 September and have our accommodations booked. We used Portugal Green Walks.

I am starting on Tuesday and booked everything in advance. I don’t normally do that but it seemed wise at this time of year.
Hello Jungleboy!!! 9 september I will start my Portuguese Coastal Camino
After your camino, do you think I should book?
Regards!!!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Unless you are anti-booking, I think it's a good idea. I stayed in three albergues (pre-booked), and two of them were full when I arrived (Bom Caminha in Caminha, and Estrelo do Mar in Baiona; the one that wasn't full was La Cala Inn in Oia).

These were my stages and accommodation:

Day 1: Porto - Vila Chã (26km) - Café Sandra (private room, €30)
Day 2: Vila Chã - Esposende (31.5km) - Eskama hostel (private room, €40)
Day 3: Esposende - VdC (25.1km) - Alex Point (private room, €42)
Day 4: VdC to Caminha (26.8km) - Bom Caminha albergue (private room, €45)
Day 5: Caminha to Oia (16.4km) - LaCala Inn (albergue dormitory, €20)
Day 6: Oia to Baiona (17.9km) - Estelo do Mar (albergue domitory, €16)
Day 7: Baiona to Vigo (25.3km) littoral - Pension Buenos Aires (private room, €45)
