How long should I walk for?

Too Many Choices

I'm in the process of planning my walk (I'll be starting on about the 10th of September 2012) but I don't quite know long to give myself for the walk.

Obviously it'll depend on the distance walked each day, but during the walk I'd like to stop for another day or two in some towns along the way. So would dedicating 6 FULL weeks to the walk (SJPP - Santiago) be enough to complete the walk with a couple of extra stops along the way?

Hi,

I agree with Falcon. Most of the guides with stages use 33-35 days for St. Jean to Santiago. And the beauty of having those extra days is that if you arrive at Santiago with 3 or 4 left over, you can always continue on to Finisterre or Muxia. Having the extra days gives you the flexibility to go with the flow and listen to the body if it's screaming out for something like rest!

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
