How to get to La Coruña airport

I will fly out of the La Coruña airport after my camino. I can not find any option to get there that does not involve going int the center of La coruna and from there out to the airport.
All help appreciated.

You can get the bus from Santiago to Alvedro and walk from there. It's a bit under a kilometer. The airport is really close but you are the wrong side of the runway as you get off the bus so have to walk in a loop round the end of the airport.
I found this route on rome2rio, and it looks reasonable, but I don't know how pedestrian friendly the road is. You could take a look at Google maps and use Street view.

Also if you take the train from Santiago to Coruña (approx 30 minutes) there is a bus stop for the airport bus 100 yards from Coruña station right beside the gas station.

On working days, both from A Coruña and from the airport, buses run from 7.15 am to 9.45 pm every half hour. On Saturdays they leave from A Coruña every hour from 7.30 am to 10.30 pm, and from the airport from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm also every hour. On Sundays and bank-holidays they leave every hour, from A Coruña from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm, and from the airport from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm.

Could you give me some information about the A Coruna airport? I am debating flying in and out of there or Santiago for the Camino Ingles. How pilgrim friendly is A Coruna- specifically are they as strict about confiscating trekking poles as is Santiago airport? Thanks.

There isn't.

The bus station and the train station are located close to each other.

There is an urban bus Line 4051 that connects from a bus stop located between the stations that goes to the airport.

I have no personal experience of this but as I remember it is the same company who provide the security staff for both airports so I'd imagine so.

The rules about trekking poles is the same at all airports in Spain.

I've seen no anecdotal information regarding the enforcement of rules at A Coruna.

Julia - for the avoidance of doubt - as you leave Coruña station by the main exit (the station is not large) there is a taxi rank right outside. Turn Right and at the traffic lights cross the road and turn Left. Proceed down this road for a short distance - in front of you there is a walkway over the motorway, however do not go that far because there is a lane to your right past the gas station which leads to the bus stop - which is on the same side as the gas station. The distance from the station to the bus stop is 10 minutes (max) on foot.

Rather than jumping off at Alvedro you can stay on and pass around the end of the runway until the next stop (you need to request). It is then a relatively short walk to Terminal. No footpath but a wide verge. I will post a map link later to show location of stop.

Wow, thank you for that information! That is so great to have directions in such detail. I've not decided yet whether to take the bus or train from Sarria - it'll be a Saturday, and my flight is around 5pm-ish. I did look up timetables, and think both take around the same sort of time, given that the train involves a change somewhere. I'll look again closer to the date.

Bus stop is just after the roundabout on right hand side. Cross over the main road, turn right at the roundabout and walk up to the terminal. 1km according to Google Maps.

I have caught this bus last year. You can only buy your ticket at bus station in SDC. The walk is short, a little bit difficult as it is the entrance to airport for cars .
It is only about .5k
& one can walk on the grass. It is doable!
