I was wondering how the humidity effects the trail during June. I am used to high humidity conditions that make it hard the breath at tines. I am trying not to train when the humidity is high. Would it be wise to train the high humidity or wait til it goes down?

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi there

When I walked August 2009 (La Faba to Santiago)...I didn't find it humid at all. I found it to be a very dry heat compared to NZ. And even though it was in the 40's when I arrived in Madrid...it was actually tolerable.

Now Dubai on the other hand.....I was there this time last year and the humidity was horrific. It was 38 degrees and 75% humidity. I didn't cope very well with it at all.

I think you will find it quite comfortable in Spain. However, with your training...I think do what makes you comfortable. Perhaps going to a gym with Air con may help you train when humidity levels are too high outside

Buen Camino
The humidity is so low you have to drink a lot of liquids to stay hydrated with beer or cider. Seriously though. after spending summers in North Carolina , its a joy to hike in northern spain. very few flying bugs and cool evening breeze. Indeed the sun is very bright , but in the shade its OK don't worry about that Darrell

If its humidity you are looking for, try staying in the albergue run by the Americans in Najera. Stifling hot, sweaty, humid, sardine can are some of the first words that come to mind, it does get better after the hot water runs out and there is no more steam from the showers.

Thank you all! This is so helpful. I think that I might put off my hiking adventures when the temperature isn't well into the 90s with 70% humidity. Gotta love the south in America!
