Very first time!
Hello all! I made it!! I am currently at the atocha bus station, going to catch the 3pm train to Pamplona where I will be getting picked up from Istvan (purazon curo). I will be starting my camino tomorrow from st. Jean. Any other fellow pilgrims near? I'd love to meet your wonderful selves! Cheers and Buen camino :) :) :)

Have a wonderful walk, Tina. I will be at Corazon in about 5 weeks.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Made it from SJPDP to Roncevaux yesterday. Tough 10 hour day. The Camino is VERY muddy in certain sections - be careful on the final 1.5 km

RCM. How tough is tough? Did you need poles? How tough would it have been if you had stopped at orrison? I leave in four weeks.

10 hours. Really long uphill. Last section muddy steep downhill. Everyone i was around was worn out but feeling better after a shower. We did a shorter day today to regenerate.

I used a stick, my wife poles. Would recommend one or the other! There's a lot of walking left after Orisson - for me it comes too soon to want to stop and by Orisson we were in the fog so there would have been no afternoon views to enjoy from there. The vast majority didn't stop at Orisson.

Thanks for the update - I leave in a week, though have booked at Orrison to help the jet lag from Oz

We are starting on Monday, May 5 from SJPDP. The weather forecast looks good. Apparently there's a gentler way to get down to Roncevalles from the top. May consider that. Ten hours is long. Well done!!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

The weather forecast has looked wet all week. Is this the reason? I will arrive next week.

The reason is that the last 1.5 k of the Napoleon route descends sharply on VERY slippery leaves to Roncesvalles. Instead where the camino nears the Ibaneta chapel walk out to
the N 135 road, turn left and follow it safely down to Roncesvalles.

Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

Margaret,

Thanks for the advice. I have made a note of it for my Camino in September.

Regards,
Mary

Bluebird day today, lovely rest day today in Pamplona. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses!

Arriving in Pamplona on the 7th. Haven't decided if I will start there or like you call istavan. Maybe we will cross paths in Pamplona.

Orisson is a good idea if you're travelling from Australia. Buen Camino!

Tina, how long was the bus ride?

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
The bus from the airport to the train station was about 30 mins due to traffic. 5 euros. Its the last stop. And it was very busy, but again it was a Saturday so might be less during the week. HTH
