RIP John Brierley. Although we never met personally you were first introduced to me in Lourdes when a kind friend 'loaned' me his copy of Brierley's guide to the Camino Frances. I was due to walk later that year. Hooked, I soon purchased my own copy as I quickly appreciated its value to my friend. Subsequently, John, through his guide, joined me as an ever present, silent companion on several caminos, always there for reference, reassurance or simply offering reflections after a long day. His legacy will endure and it is wonderful that John's daughter Gemma will continue this work which will endure. GPS is great but I am of a generation that appreciates the 'hard copy' tucked into my backpack. R.I.P. Pilgrim John Brierley

Yes to Bradypus and to Johnnie, one for writing a beautiful, but concise obituary to a much loved “pilgrim saint” and the other for posting a copy that many of us would not have seen.
David not sure that Heaven needs a new guide book, but maybe the existing one needs a refresh. So yes RIP our beloved John and thank you for all the joy you and your guide books have given. Buen Camino friend.
