Knitting Yarn shop in Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
First Part Oct. 5 2018 (StJ)-Oct. 19 (Boadillo); 2nd Part May 5 (Boadilla) to May 26, 2019.
A good friend of mine is a dedicated knitter, and asked if I could bring some artisanal wool yarn from Spain as souvenir. During my first part of the CF (till Boadilla), I never even had the time to explore the few cities (Pamplona, Logrono, Burgos) to find some store (merceria?). But in Santiago, I will have a few days, and will be very grateful for advice where to buy artisanal wool yarn there. Muchas Gracias!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I found this quote from another thread from 2016.
I am now in SdC and on Rua Nova there are two yarn shops! I spied some women lacemaking in one of them last night!

Santiago has quite a sizeable new town shopping area, in addition to the old town shops. No doubt you can find some.

There is one not far from the cathedral. one of the main roads out of the old town up the hill. Going towards the supermarket but i dont remember where exactly. I would just ask at the tourist office when you get there ...in fact it might be at the top of that very street ( to the left of the tourist office up the hill)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Muchas Gracias, everybody.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Brought a bamboo crochet hook from home and bought 2 balls of soft wool from a wool shop in Porto. Managed to find time to crochet a scarf on my last camino and finished it at airports and long flight home.

Just discovered that the Casa Bonita is closing up shop. :( So that won't be an option in May, unless a new yarn shop moves in.

Hello, I'm not doing the Camino (yet), so I don't know if this question fits in this forum... But I'm looking for advice and I think this is the best place. I'm planning a three or four days trip...
A nice read 🙏🏻 https://www.elcorreogallego.es/santiago/2024/06/04/historia-trampillas-techos-casas-rua-vilar-nova-santiago-103321171.html
